Heidi drafts and prosecutes patent applications in the mechanical and electromechanical arts.
Heidi also litigates intellectual property disputes.
Prior to joining Dority & Manning, Heidi clerked for the Honorable Jacquelyn D. Austin, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of South Carolina.
During college, Heidi interned at General Electric in the areas of gas turbine combustion and controls technology.
While at General Electric, Heidi worked on a team that designed and developed a depth setting tool for a combustion dynamics monitoring system, and the depth setting tool was ultimately patented. Through this project, Heidi was able to experience the patenting process from conception of the invention, to design and development of the invention, to prosecution of a patent on the invention, and to issuance of the patent.
