Dority & Manning is proud to announce that Elizabeth K. Gemmell has joined the firm. Her practice will focus initially on preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in the electrical arts.
Beth is a former Patent Examiner and a registered Patent Agent, with membership pending in the Maryland Bar. Beth earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and a J.D. from the University of Maryland.
At the Patent Office, Beth examined applications in areas such as electric lamps and discharge devices (including plasma displays, liquid crystal displays, light emitting diodes, and organic light emitting diodes), x-ray and gamma-ray systems and devices, medical devices, optical waveguides, optical measurement and testing, and semiconductor devices and manufacture. After leaving the Patent Office, she worked as a Patent Agent at an IP firm in Washington, D.C., in areas such as plasma display panels, liquid crystal displays, home appliances, and lighting systems.
