Dority & Manning proudly announces that Alan Marshall has been elected a Shareholder of the firm. Alan’s practice involves managing global patent portfolios for clients across diverse areas of technology, particularly in the areas of chemical, biochemical, electrochemical, and mechanical arts. He also assists clients with trademark issues, having extensive experience in registering trademarks and managing global trademark portfolios. Alan has advised a range of clients, including individuals, start-up companies, regional corporations, international corporate clients, and research universities.
Alan is active in the local bar, currently serving as the President of the Carolina Patent, Trademark & Copyright Law Association where he has served on the Board since 2006. Alan also recently served as the Chairman of the Intellectual Property and Unfair Trade Practice Committee for the South Carolina Bar. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Honors from the South Carolina Honors College. Alan received his law degree from the University of South Carolina.
